Due to mail server restrictions it is becoming increasingly problematic for us to send files by email.  This often requires that we rename .EXE and .BAT files, and this creates issues for users who are unable to rename these files due to global settings on some computer systems.  Different operating systems require different methods, and this often ends up in a manual over the phone attempt at get the proper files with the proper names in the proper locations.  What should be really simple ends up creating new problems etc.  In an attempt to eliminate these problems we have added a 'User Specific' download option to our downloads page.

This page is only accessible if you have logged into our site.  If there are any user specific downloads available, then there will be a link on this page indicating this.  If there are no user specific downloads available the downloads page will not look any different.

User specific downloads are always contained in a self installing .EXE file.   For example; If your login name is fuelshop then the user specific file will be a EXE archive named fuelshop.exe.  This file is installed in the same manner as a standard Shop Trac update, although the installation prompts may vary depending on the situation. 

User installs may sometimes be password protected.  In most cases this will be a mutually agreed on password, but in some cases we may also provide the password on the download page, and it will only be visible if you are logged  into this site with the proper credentials.  For this reason, it is very important that you do not share your login credentials with others, as you may also be sharing install files unique to yourself.

We anticipate that this feature will help to eliminate some of the problems we have encountered in the past.
