Windows 2000 Issues
Windows 2000 Professional does not
pose any significant problems for Shop Trac. Several
issues have come forward in recent months, and this Tech Tip
was created to provide information on these issues. If
and when new issues arise, we will add to this list:
 | Shop Trac works best when run in a
window as opposed to a full screen. The reason for
this is that Windows 2000 allocates resources differently
for full screen DOS applications. Shop Trac has no
problems running in a full screen mode, but it may affect
other programs tat are running. |
 | How do I print to a non local printer?
The "Capture Printer" button that was available in earlier
Windows has been removed from Windows 2000. To connect
to a network printer you need to use the "NET USE"
command. For example: To connect LPT1: to a
printer called HP on computer named SERVER use the
command: NET USE LPT1: \\SERVER\HP from
a command prompt. We recommend that you place this
command in a BATCH file and add this batch file to the
Startup folder in your Start Menu to make this connection
each time the computer is turned on. |
