Add/Edit
This option is where all the action is.
Select an available price list from the popup list, or press
the <INS> key to create a new one. Note that a file
extension is not required, and assumed to be .PRC.
Once a file has been selected, keying a part number will
display this item (if it exists), or you can add it if it
does NOT exist. Press <F2> to search by 'Part Number',
<SHIFT><F2> to search by 'Description'.
Most of the options on this screen should be self
explanatory. The 'SS' option is used to supercede an
existing part number.

Edit | Factor
Just like it says. Select an
existing price list and apply a factor to the prices in this
list. This is useful when a manufacture changes prices
by a percentage rather than issuing a new price list.

Edit | Branch
This option is almost identical to the
Edit | Add/Edit option, except that it displays data from
'Branch' files. Branch files are created by Shop Trac,
and allow OPL users to share data with other Shop Trac
users. Another difference with this option is that it
displays a 'Balance' rather than a 'Package Quantity'.
Select an available branch list from the popup list, or
press the <INS> key to create a new one. Note that a
file extension is not required, and assumed to be .BRA.

Colours
Simply that. This option is used to
change the display colours. It looks complicated, but
if you play with it for a few moments you will see how easy
it is. Please be careful that you don't change the
colours to something invisible. If you do, it will be
necessary to reinstall OPL.

Utility |
Dos Shell
This option exits to a Dos Shell.
Type EXIT from DOS to return to OPL. This even works
with Windows XP ... and they said DOS was dead!

Import
This option is used to import ASCII price
lists into OPL. When selected, you can import into an
existing price list file from a pop-up list of files, or
create a new price list file by pressing the <INS> or
Insert key from the pop-up list of price list files.
Please note that when importing into an existing file,
existing records are updated to agree with the data being
imported. After a destination file has been selected,
the following fields need to be completed:
 | Import File Name: This is the
name of the ASCII file being imported. |
 | Import File Format: This is the
name assigned to the format of this file. OPL ships
with the 'Native' format already defined, or you can
simply input a different name to assign to a different
format. Use the <F2> key to scan for available
formats. If an existing format is selected, all of
the remaining fields on this screen will be completed
based on that format. |
 | Variable Offsets/Lengths: Each
field being imported requires an offset and length value. |
 | Superceded Pattern Offset: This
is the offset where a unique pattern begins for superceded
part numbers. |
 | Superceded Pattern: This is the
actual pattern such as USE. |
 | Factor: Each price field has a
factor, normally set to 1.00. |
 | Package Prices: If this field is
set to Yes then all prices will be divided by the package
quantity to result in a Price Each price. |
